After attending medical school in Berlin (Free University of Berlin), residency in radiology, nuclear medicine and radiation therapy in Berlin.
1982-1983 Senior Research Associate, State University of New York at Stony Brook (Paul C. Lauterbur). Afterwards physician-in-charge at the NMR research group at Deutsche Klinik für Diagnostik, Wiesbaden, Germany.
1984-1985 resident in conventional, interventional and computed radiology at Wiesbaden General Hospital.
1986-present Senior Lecturer and Visiting Professor, University of Mons-Hainaut, Medical Faculty, NMR Laboratory; Mons, Belgium.
1987-1994 Professor of Radiology and Magnetic Resonance and head of the Medical Section, MR-Center, Medical Section, University of Trondheim, Norway.
